Victoria took her first yoga class at 9 years old as part of after school kids yoga. She continued private lessons until 16, when she started deeper meditation and asana practice and completed her teacher training in Boston in 2012 with Ame Wren and Lynn Beiger. Victoria teaches yoga as an act of “seva” with yoga having been a part of her life for so long. It wasn’t until becoming a teacher later in life and as an adult that Victoria realized that yoga gets a bad rep as “hard”, “scary” and “only for flexible people.” Not everyone will be immediately drawn to yoga as much as I have been, but my goal in teaching is to make yoga more accessible and less scary for everyone, and to create opportunities to become the version of yourself that you want to be, whether that’s a path for spiritual enlightenment or the never ending quest for the elusive “yoga butt.” Outside of yoga, Victoria has a career in healthcare and tech, and has taught yoga and meditation for patients and caregivers in neurology, oncology, and psychiatry. Victoria was the lead yoga instructor for Converse (Nike) in Boston, has led international yoga retreats, and conducted independent research on the effects of yoga and meditation on our physiology. Life is short, don’t take it too seriously, it’s just yoga.
