Yamuna Body Rolling
Yamuna® Body Rolling (YBR®) is a natural complement to yoga. Their goals are the same: to create calm and balance within, to eliminate stress and tension, and to free the body of restrictions. YBR® will help you improve your practice in a profound way, at the same time re-educating your movement patterns to help prevent injury and sustain vitality. By creating space between muscle and bone, YBR® realigns your body and allows its perfect circuitry to fire in the logical and correct order. This, in turn, allows the body as a whole to perform optimally.
In a Yamuna® Body Rolling class one learns to work on each part of the body, using the body’s weight and 6-10 inch diameter Yamuna® balls to create traction and muscle release. You will roll the ball from the buttocks to the calf; from the tail bone up to the skull; from the abdomen up to the collar bone; from the collar bone out to the shoulder joint; and so on. The ball becomes the hands of a therapist and your body weight creates the traction, movement and release, everywhere you have muscle connecting from one place to the next. You will feel the results from the very first class. YBR® also teaches you how to “work on yourself ” anytime, anywhere, forever. As a very powerful self -fixing and maintaining tool that everyone can do, (regardless of age or physical limitations,) YBR becomes a personal practice that re-organizes the body as needed, bringing all the parts back to working the way they should and can be. The commonly accepted belief that as you get older you get stiffer, lose mobility, or can no longer do the things you used to do, is not part of the Yamuna® belief system.
