Tui Na Bodywork
Tui Na (“tway na”), which translates as “push-grasp” in Chinese, refers to Chinese medical bodywork. Medical bodywork is different from other Asian massage methods such as “An Mo” or “Shiatsu.” Combining acupressure and hand techniques similar to traditional massage, Tui Na is an intensive form of bodywork that is extremely effective at treating sports injuries, body misalignment, muscular tension, and internal disease. While Tui Na may be used alone, it is often incorporated with other modalities of traditional Chinese medicine. Herbal liniments, oils, or plasters are often used with Tui Na to aid in healing.
